The application of mirror polished aluminum sheet has extended to such a wide scope that we are usually surprised upon spotting them in some products. Sometimes it serves as a packing material for cosmetics and high end gifts, and on other occasions it becomes shells for expensive cell phones and laptops. You sees it as lamp covers on the street, walls for buildings and decoration material at shopping malls. Then why is the mirror polished aluminum sheet so widely applied? Why don’t people choose other metals?

To most people the mirror polished aluminum sheet is simply a plain metal of dull color, but to manufacturers of various products it’s an economic material ready to take place of expensive ones. Generally speaking, aluminum costs more than iron and steel, but less than stainless steel of the same weight. This is hardly an advantage because aluminum mirror sheet costs more than common aluminium sheets as well. Nevertheless, aluminum has an overwhelming natural strength over all other metals frequently applied as industrial materials: small density. In spite of its higher cost, it costs much less than steel of the same size and thickness. In practical application, people use metal sheet by size rather than weight, therefore, polished aluminum sheet proves to be cheaper than stainless steel for clients. In addition, it meets regular requirements about corrosion resistance, temperature, sunshine and workability, which makes it a popular substitute of stainless steel and copper in many areas.

The aluminum parts processing industry has been to clean oil removal mainly by acid cleaning, using acid reaction to remove the surface of aluminum oil, but also to remove the raw edge of the product, so that the product surface oxidized to white. However, the high precision requirements of aluminum products should not use acid aluminum products cleaning agent. In addition to the oil to be completely removed at the same time can not have any impact on the surface of the product, do not change the color, size.

Nitric acid:
1. As a necessary raw material for nitrates and nitrates, nitric acid is used to prepare a series of nitrates nitrogen fertilizer, such as ammonium nitrate and potassium nitrate.
2. Also used in the military.
3. Since nitric acid is both oxidizing and acidic, nitric acid is also used to refine metals: the impure metals are oxidized into nitrates, and the impurities are removed before reduction. Nitric acid can passivate iron without further corrosion. Also available for making nitrogen fertilizer, wang shui, nitrates, nitroglycerine, nitrocellulose, nitro-benzene, picric acid.
Hydrofluoric acid:
Hydrofluoric acid plays an important role in the purification of aluminum and uranium due to its ability to dissolve oxides. Hydrofluoric acid is also used to etch glass, which can carve patterns, mark marks and text. The semiconductor industry USES it to remove oxides from silicon, it can be used in refineries as a catalyst for alkylation of isobutane and n-butene, and hydrofluoric acid is used to remove oxygen-containing impurities from stainless steel surfaces. Hydrofluoric acid is also used in the synthesis of a variety of fluoroorganic compounds, such as Teflon(polytetrafluoroethylene) and refrigerants such as freon.

| Why must we use aluminium to bake a cake? |
|

We don’t need to.
Aluminium wasn’t around until the 1800s (late 1800s before it became affordable), but cake was around before that[1] , so they managed to bake cakes without aluminium
We don’t have too but aluminum is the go to for a few reasons.
Unlike glass, aluminum isn’t that heavy and doesn’t break into a billion shards. Metal is also easier to form into the pans we use. I have baked cakes in glass pans before, they can be used but they are bulky and heavy compared to the nice aluminum ones I have.
Metal also distributes heat more evenly. Don’t you love the way a good mac and cheese bubbles in the pan after you make it? That’s great for a baked casserole but I don’t need that kind of carry over cooking for my cake. Aluminum heats and cools pretty quickly if you haven’t noticed. No, it isn’t the best at this but it does have another great selling point…
Thanks to advances in metallurgy, aluminum is also cheap. There is a reason you get aluminum cans and not copper or steel ones. Have I seen steel pans, yes. There are even plenty of recipes that call for being made in a cast iron skillet. No aluminum needed!
Just don’t try to bake any mercury or gallium cakes in your aluminum pans and you’re good to go.

Aluminum weighs 2.699 gram per cubic centimeter or 2 699 kilogram per cubic meter, i.e. it's density is equal to 2 699 kg/m³. The density was measured at 20°C (68°F or 293.15K) at standard atmospheric pressure. In Imperial or US customary measurement system, the Aluminum density is equal to 168.493065659 pound per cubic foot [lb/ft³], or 1.560120978 ounce per cubic inch [oz/inch³] .
Melting Point (MP), Aluminum changes its state from solid to liquid at 660.45°C (1220.81°F or 933.6K)
Boiling Point (BP), Aluminum changes its state from liquid to gas at 2520°C (4568°F or 2793.15K)

| WHY 5005 ALUMINUM SHEET ? |
|
Posted by: aadaasdark8072 - 10-11-2018, 09:21 AM - Forum: aluminium faq

The alloy you choose for your aluminum sheet naturally depends on your application. 5005 Aluminum sheet is often used when the material will be anodized and deployed in an architectural application like flashings, sills, curtain walls etc. Architects often specify 5005 alloy for anodized aluminum architectural metalwork.
The importance of using an anodizing quality (AQ) alloy when the aluminum will be anodized cannot be overstated. Anodizing is an electrochemical process that converts the metal surface into a decorative, durable, corrosion-resistant, anodic oxide finish. For more information about anodizing please see http://www.anodizing.org/?page=what_is_anodizing. When anodizing, the metal you start with has a tremendous impact on the quality of the finished product that you will receive. Simply stated 5005 AQ alloy is formulated for a decorative architectural anodized finish. It allows for a more uniform and attractive anodized finish than other alloys.
Finishing 3003 Aluminum
A good example of why one should never anodize 3003 aluminum.
DO NOT attempt to anodize aluminum alloys like 3003 or 3105 if you want the finish to be attractive and consistent. These alloys will show imperfections such as structural streaks, cloudiness, blemishes, and EXTREME color variation.
Many people substitute 5052 for 5005. While 5052 can produce acceptable results, it has more imperfections and is more prone to color variation than 5005 alloy aluminum.
SAF is frequently asked, “Does SAF sell 5005 sheets in 1/4″ thickness?” Unfortunately, we do not. Flat material that is 1/4” is not technically sheet, it is plate. Plates are rarely used aesthetically and is normally used in structural applications. Because of this, plates are not manufactured for a perfect finish. If your application does not require good aesthetics, 5052 or 6061 alloys may be an acceptable substitute for 5005 aluminum.
Talk to your anodizer about your applications, and your expectations for the finish. They should be able to recommend an aluminum alloy for your application.

The kraft paper embossed stucco aluminum sheet coil is made of kraft paper as a processing material, and the kraft paper is firmly bonded to the stucco embossed aluminum through the high temperature and high pressure. The commonly used materials are 1060, 1050, 3003 and 5052 aluminum, and the tempers are H14, H24, H16, H18, etc., the thickness range 0.1-3.0mm, the thickness of kraft paper is 10-15 micro. Due to the kraft paper has good ductility, strong moisture-proof function, the stucco embossed aluminum with kraft paper are favored by users because of the good corrosion resistance and excellent value preservation in thermal insulation industry.
![[Image: IMG546%20(10).jpg]](http://embossed-aluminium.com/images/pic/IMG546%20(10).jpg)
There are two processes for coating kraft paper on the surface of stucco embossed aluminum:
1: Bonded by glue, the surface of the kraft paper is glued by itself, the advantage of this method is high production efficiency, prompt delivery, low production cost, the daily output can reach 30 tons. The shortcoming is that due to temperature changes, the surface of the kraft paper is prone to bubbles, which affects the bonding effect, and the storage time in the open air should not be too long.
2: the kraft paper and the stucco aluminum sheet are bonded together by heating. The advantage of this product is that the adhesion is very high, the water immersion test does not open the glue for 24 hours, and does not fall off. The weather resistance is extremely high, and the kraft paper is not affected by temperature changes, and the disadvantage is that the production efficiency is slow and the production cost is too high.

1060 aluminum coil with aluminum content of up to 99.6%, also known as pure aluminum , it is pretty similar to 1050 aluminum alloy with more than 0.1% of aluminum by weight. but they cover different ASTM standards. 1060 aluminum coilcontains 0.05% cooper, thus, its conductivity is 55%. Besides, 1060 aluminum coil is relatively low strength, essentially pure aluminum alloy with many different tempers, such as O (annealed), H12, H14, H16, H18, etc. what’s more, other aluminum coil belonging to commercial pure wrought family are available, including 1050, 1070, 1100 and so on and so forth. 1060 aluminum coil has a good elongation and tensile strength, fully able to meet the requirements of conventional processing (stamping, stretching) high formability (1060). 1060 Aluminum industry pure Aluminum coil , high plasticity, corrosion resistance, electrical conductivity and thermal conductivity, but the intensity is low, heat treatment can not enhance machinability is not good; can welding, welding and welding with hydrogen atoms, is not easy to bear all kinds of pressure brazing; processing and drawing, bending.

Because the mirror finish aluminum sheet metal has the light quality, the heat dissipation quick, the beautiful characteristic, has been widely used in many fields. The most commonly used mobile phone in life, almost everyone can’t live without electronic equipment, whose shell is made of brushed aluminum plate, and mirror finish aluminum plate is the most ideal shell material for mobile phone. So why is mirror finish aluminum sheet metal the most ideal phone case material?
![[Image: Aluminum%20sheet%20mirror.jpg]](http://polishing-aluminum-sheet.com/images/pic/Aluminum%20sheet%20mirror.jpg)
1. The classic fashion of brushed aluminum oxide plate with rich color: brushed aluminum plate has rich color and soft metal texture, so more and more product metal shell USES wire-drawing technology to achieve beautiful and practical effect.
2, fine wire drawing textures, different aesthetic feeling, Angle of 90 ° or 180 ° Angle of continuity burst and folded surface film layer from, wiredrawing grain is exquisite fashion, in the application on the following make metallic matte radiant with fine hair luster.
3. Easy to clean and convenient to clean the stains: resistant to washing, more powerful than traditional anodic oxidation and scrubbing, especially alkaline washing liquid. The patent technology of anodic photooxidation solves the problem of stamping and blowout of traditional anodic oxidation. In the application of mobile phone case can resist fingerprint, strong metal sense.
4. Leading in the anti-aging industry: compared with the external traditional anode oxidation products, the anti-aging time is 6-8 times that of the traditional anode oxidation; The drawing texture is obvious and the handle is strong. The application in the mobile phone case will bring users a different sense of security.
The above are the four reasons why aluminum wire drawing is the most ideal mobile phone shell material. The application of mirror finish aluminum sheet is very extensive, which can be applied in various industries such as signage, mobile electronic equipment, household appliances, construction and decoration.
