aluminium sheet exits in our lives in many kinds of formations. The application of aluminium sheet is the most popular. The density of aluminium sheet is low while the intensity high which is almost surpassing the one of high-grade steel. The nature of plasticity is good with which could produce to different formations with good performance on heat and corrosion resistance.
With the technology development and progress on the production of aluminum, the advantages of aluminium sheet will be magnified such as the increasing production and marketing. In the aluminium sheet productions, the demanding of aluminium sheet and belt is also increasing on the big stuffs like spaceships, airplanes, aircraft carriers while the small things like food cases, tags, cellphone, etc.

Aluminum alloy 7075 is an aluminum alloy, with zinc as the primary alloying element. It is strong, with a strength comparable to many steels, and has good fatigue strength and average machinability. It has lower resistance to corrosion than many other Al alloys, but has significantly better corrosion resistance than the 2000 alloys. Its relatively high cost limits its use to applications where cheaper alloys are not suitable.
7075 aluminum alloy‘s composition roughly includes 5.6–6.1% zinc, 2.1–2.5% magnesium, 1.2–1.6% copper, and less than a half percent of silicon, iron, manganese, titanium, chromium, and other metals. It is produced in many tempers, some of which are 7075-0, 7075-T6, 7075-T651.
7075 T651
Due to their high strength-to-density ratio 7000 series alloys such as 7075 are often used in transport applications, including marine, automotive and aviation. These same properties lead to its use in rock climbing equipment, bicycle components, inlineskating-frames and hang glider airframes are commonly made from 7075 aluminium alloy. Hobby grade RC models commonly use 7075 and 6061 for chassis plates. 7075 is used in the manufacturing of M16 rifles for the American military. In particular high quality M16 rifle lower and upper receivers as well as extension tubes are typically made from 7075-T6 alloy. Desert Tactical Arms, SIG Sauer, and French armament company PGM use it for their precision rifles. It is also commonly used in shafts for lacrosse sticks, such as the STX sabre, and camping knife and fork sets. It is a common material used in competition yo-yos as well.
Due to its high strength, low density, thermal properties, and its ability to be highly polished, 7075 is widely used in mold tool manufacturing. This alloy has been further refined into other 7000 series alloys for this application, namely 7050 and 7020.

aluminium alloys (or aluminum alloys; see spelling differences) are alloys in which aluminium (Al) is the predominant metal. The typical alloying elements are copper, magnesium, manganese, silicon, tin and zinc. There are two principal classifications, namely casting alloys and wrought alloys, both of which are further subdivided into the categories heat-treatable and non-heat-treatable. About 85% of aluminium is used for wrought products, for example rolled plate, foils and extrusions. Cast aluminium alloys yield cost-effective products due to the low melting point, although they generally have lower tensile strengths than wrought alloys. The most important cast aluminium alloy system is Al–Si, where the high levels of silicon (4.0–13%) contribute to give good casting characteristics. Aluminium alloys are widely used in engineering structures and components where light weight or corrosion resistance is required.
Alloys composed mostly of aluminium have been very important in aerospace manufacturing since the introduction of metal-skinned aircraft. Aluminium-magnesium alloys are both lighter than other aluminium alloys and much less flammable than alloys that contain a very high percentage of magnesium.
Aluminium alloy surfaces will develop a white, protective layer of aluminium oxide if left unprotected by anodizing and/or correct painting procedures. In a wet environment, galvanic corrosion can occur when an aluminium alloy is placed in electrical contact with other metals with more positive corrosion potentials than aluminium, and an electrolyte is present that allows ion exchange. Referred to as dissimilar-metal corrosion, this process can occur as exfoliation or as intergranular corrosion. Aluminium alloys can be improperly heat treated. This causes internal element separation, and the metal then corrodes from the inside out.

| Deformation behavior of 5A06 aluminum alloy sheet for rapid gas forming at elevated t |

The aim of this work is to investigate the deformation behavior of commercial 5A06 aluminum alloy sheet for rapid gas forming at elevated temperature. So-called cup-shaped workpieces were formed under different conditions. The temperatures ranged from 325 °C to 500 °C. The gas pressure was 2.5 MPa and 4.0 MPa, with different duration time from 8 s to 120 s. The profiles, corner radius and thickness distribution of the formed specimens were measured and analyzed. The results show that the formability of the sheet is improved by increasing the testing temperature, duration time and gas pressure. Corner radius changes obviously before the temperature attains to 450 °C or within 30 s, and then trends to the minimum value (about 2.0 mm) gently. Higher forming gas pressure can be used to reduce the duration time at the appropriate temperature ranging from 400 °C to 500 °C. However, the sheet needs enough deformation time to conform final corner filling when the gas pressure is 4.0 MPa. The minimum wall thickness appears at the transition zone between corner and bottom

The 5754 thick aluminum plate is applied to the ship. The aluminum has very good corrosion resistance, which reduces the corrosion of the seawater atmosphere to a certain extent and prolongs the service life of the ship. At the same time, the weight of aluminum is 1/3 of steel, but the strength is double that of steel. This reduces the ship’s own weight, which speeds up the ship speed, reduces fuel and increases the load. In addition, the 5754 thick aluminum plate has good processing properties and weldability, which greatly improves the safety of the ship

| How to calculate numbers of roofing sheets from a pitch roof |
|
Posted by: ZellaHyday - 08-30-2018, 01:21 AM - Forum: aluminium faq
- No Replies
|
|
The most common roof style is the pitch roof and the building is usually
divided at the center which is the apex.
The pitch roof is the easiest to calculate though I won’t bore you with
details, but you can ask your contractor for the size of each roofing
sheet except you are using longspan aluminium roofing sheet which can be cut to exact lenght of the roof.
To make fast calculation, measure the length of the side of building let
say ‘x’, measure the breadth ‘y’. To get an approximate surface area we
will add an arbitrary value for the difference in length due to the pitch
or depth of roof.
So lets say for a house of total length of the front is 1.8m or 60ft
and side which is the longer part is 27m or 90ft.
Area =length of front of house x side of house=18 x 27=486m2
Add allowance for the pitch or depth 20% of Area=20% + 486m =583.2m2
Now find out the length and breadth of each roofing sheet and also
multiply length by breadth.
Assuming the ceilling sheet is 3.6m in length and 1.8m in breadth
Then area of roofing sheet =3.6 x 1.8 =6.48m2
Therefore total numbers of roofing sheets needed approximately is
(Area of building + Allowance)/area of one roofing sheet =583.2/6.48m
=90 sheets
Please note that this is not a standard way of approximating but this is
