I have an old aluminum trash can that I don\'t use any more and a bunch of papers I want to burn, so I am trying to figure out if it would be safe or not to start a fire in it? Obviously I would be doing this outdoors in my backyard with a fire extinguisher nearby.There\'s nothing dangerous about the aluminum trash canJust don\'t burn too many papers at onceIt\'s possible to melt the aluminum with too hot a fire[And to be fussy: You also should check to find out what the burning ordinances are where you live.]Other related question
