I've eaten a small quantity and survived. Aluminum itself isn't the demon it is made out to be. That started when researchers noticed aluminum content in plaques of those with alzheimers, but no one could show a causal relationship. But when you eat it the sulfuric acid reacts it and form hydrogen gas (no worries here) and aluminum sulfate (some worries). of course your stomach is a gelatinous mass of mucus and chum and some foils are coated in plastic on one side (so reactions aren't taking place quickly). Eventually your body will digest it enough to get it through, but its not like you are putting foil strips into draino or anything (don't do that, btw). I looked up the msds on foil for reynold's wrap and it doesn't have anything for ingestion, it says its unlikely anyone would eat it. Small bits aren't going to hurt anything.
