For drilling thick alloy plate you would benefit from using a quality drill press that will offer you increased drilling power and precision work.
If it is going to be used every day and working with thick grade materials or hard plate then you should go with a commercial grade drill press.
Either a benchtop drill press or a free-standing drill press will be sufficient to deal with heavy daily use.
