I am definitely in favor of aluminum for doors. Having an exemplary assembly (crimped corners; base on embedded parts, not on self-tapping screws, good door hinges, not window type), high-quality security padlocks, and proper operation (removing snow and ice in front of the door on time, not sticking stuff at the door closer) aluminum doors can withstand more than a million opening and closing cycles. If aluminum doors are poorly made - it's no better than UPVC. You should have the most reliable and correctly assembled doors, and any aluminum door will serve for a long time.
