luminum Gutter Installation Steps:
Aluminum Gutter
1. Measure along the house fascia to determine the length of each piece of gutter.
2. Apply a bead of silicone sealant along the inner edge of an aluminum end cap. Tap the end cap onto the end of the gutter, then secure it with a crimping tool.
3. Cut the gutter to length using a hacksaw and tin snips.
4. Fasten pre-mitered aluminum corner to the gutter end using sealant and aluminum pop rivets.
5. Attach an end cap to the second length of gutter, then rivet it to the mitered corner to create the L-shaped gutter assembly.
6. Use a hole saw to drill a 3-inch-diameter hole through bottom of the gutter. Attach an outlet fitting to the hole using sealant and rivets.
7. Hold the L-shaped gutter assembly in place against the house fascia.
8. Use a level as a straightedge to position the high end of the gutter. Be sure the front edge of the gutter doesn’t protrude above the roof plane.
9. Slip a gutter-mounting bracket into the high-end of the gutter, then drive a screw through the bracket and fascia and into a rafter tail.
10. Adjust the pitch of the gutter so that rainwater will drain down to where the downspout will be installed.
11. Slip brackets into the gutter and drive the screws through the brackets and into the rafter tails. Place one bracket at each rafter tail.
12. Place two elbows onto the upper end of a length of downspout, and secure them with short sheet-metal screws.
13. Screw two aluminum wall brackets to the house corner boards.
14. Slip the elbow on the upper end of the downspout over the outlet fitting protruding down from the gutter above.
15. To hold the downspout in place, drive short sheet-metal screws through the wall brackets and into the downspout.
16. Dig a shallow trench from the lower end of the downspout out away from the house. 17 Use PVC primer and cement to assemble a rainwater drainpipe made from 4-inch-diameter PVC pipe and assorted fittings.
17. On one end of the drainpipe attach an elbow and rectangular downspout fitting. On the other end, glue on an elbow and drainage cap.
18. Slip the bottom end of the downspout into the rectangular downspout fitting attached to the end of the PVC drainpipe.
19. Lay the drainpipe in the trench, then backfill.

| What are the pros and cons of aluminum versus stainless steel? |

Both of these metals have qualities that make them particularly desirable, but they each have their drawbacks as well.
Here are the advantages and disadvantages associated with aluminum and stainless steel.
The Weight of the Material
One of the major advantages that aluminum has over stainless steel is the fact that it is very light in weight, while steel can be quite heavy. This difference in weight is due to the fact that aluminum is less dense than stainless steel. In fact, aluminum is typically about one-third of the weight of stainless steel; this means that manufacturers prefer to use aluminum for certain items such as window frames and automobile trim, so as not to add unnecessary weight to the component.
The Difference in Strength
There is no doubt that aluminum is a durable material; however, it is not as strong as stainless steel. And while this may not be a concern in every application, those that depend on a particular level of strength should opt for stainless steel.
The reason that stainless steel is stronger than aluminum is due to its higher overall density. There are many applications, such as commercial counter tops and kitchen sinks, that must hold considerable weight, and therefore they are usually made from stainless steel rather than aluminum.
Corrosion Concerns
Both aluminum and stainless steel are noted for their anti-corrosive properties, especially when compared to other metals, but even still, stainless steel is much less susceptible to corrosion than aluminum. Erosion and corrosion are something that must be taken into consideration when using the metal outside where it will be subjected to the elements.
As the name suggests, stainless steel is specially made to prevent staining and corrosion (rust), while aluminum will tend to become clouded if it is exposed to moisture or chemicals for extended periods.
Cooking Applications
One of the foremost advantages that stainless steel has over aluminum is its ability to be used in food preparation. Stainless steel will not influence the taste or texture of food, and this is due to its neutral chemical composition.
On the other hand, aluminum can affect the way food will taste if that product comes in contact with the metal surface for an extended period. Not only this, but aluminum can change the appearance of food, and this does not bode well for restaurants and chefs.
Final Statement
As it has been shown, there are many advantages and disadvantages when it comes to using aluminum and stainless steel. For the most part, aluminum will provide a lighter weight material, which can be a considerable advantage in certain applications, such as automobile trim and engine components. And while aluminum also has anti-corrosive properties, it is still more susceptible to clouding and pitting than stainless steel.
The primary advantage that stainless steel has over aluminum is its strength. While aluminum may be less dense and lighter, steel is much stronger. Stainless steel is also better suited for cooking applications, such as counter tops and food storage containers.
In the end, both stainless steel and aluminum are versatile materials, and their pros and cons will depend on the application in which they are being used.

Aluminium mirror sheets are also called polished aluminium mirror sheet, mirror finish anodized aluminum sheet etc. Base plates of many alloys in 1xxx, 3xxx and 5xxx series are suitable for further processing into such sheets. Polished aluminum mirror sheets have a wide range of thickness, reflectivity and price, meeting varied market requirements for different applications in decorative. As a fashionable material, they are winning more and more popularity because of ideal decorative effect.
![[Image: 19113794_139237159966311_694614880351355...00x225.jpg]](http://www.aluminiumstrip-hm.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/19113794_139237159966311_6946148803513558430_n-300x225.jpg)
While being used in wall cladding, aluminum mirror sheets have not a few advantages. As said above, they display an ideal decoration effect, for it’s convenient to make them into various shapes and paint them with any possible designs. The sheets have longer service life in comparison with traditional painted walls. Experiments show that well-painted PVDF paintings last three decades even in severe surroundings, while traditional paintings peel off easily within years or even months. As a decorative part it’s crucial for wall cladding materials to be light as well. Even though aluminum mirror sheets are made of metals, they prove to be much lighter than stone and ceramic plates. This makes it more convenient to install and fix them into walls, and they are less likely to fall off the walls than heavier materials. In addition, mirror finish anodized aluminum sheets have strong corrosion resistance. They can be maintained by common cleaning methods without rusting problems. Last but not least, the sheets cost less than their competitors like marble panels, ceramic tiles etc.

Aviation aluminum plate is an ultra-high-strength deformed aluminum alloy with good mechanical properties and processing properties, easy to shape, good heat treatment strengthening effect, high strength at high temperature (150 ° C or higher), and good toughness.
Compared with ordinary aluminum alloys, aviation aluminum alloys have higher requirements on strength, hardness, toughness, fatigue resistance and plasticity. Due to the light weight and light weight effect of aviation aluminum, it has replaced steel and occupied the dominant position of current aviation materials.

6082 Aluminum Alloy
There are many kinds of aluminum alloys used on airplanes. The aluminum alloysused in aviation aircraft structures in the world today are mainly high-strength 2 series (2024, 2017, 2A12, etc.) and ultra-high-strength 7 series (7075, 7475, 7050, 7A04, etc.), and some 5 series (5A06, 5052, 5086, etc.) and 6 series (6061, 6082, etc.) and a small amount of other series of aluminum.
Aerospace aluminum is mainly used in airfoil skins, airfoil long rafts, spar upper and lower edge strips, webs, fuselage long rafts, seat rails, keel beams, side frames, fuselage skins, lower fuselage Wall panels, main floor rafters and other parts.
1. Hard aluminum: aluminum magnesium copper alloy. The most widely used aluminum alloy in the aviation industry. Commonly used 2024, 2A12, 2017A, strength, toughness, fatigue resistance, good plasticity. Used to make skins, partitions, ribs, etc.
2, super hard aluminum: aluminum zinc magnesium copper alloy. Commonly used 7075, 7A09, high strength limit and high yield strength, with a large load, used to make the upper wing skin and girders on the wing.
3, anti-rust aluminum alloy: commonly used aluminum-magnesium alloy 5A02, 5A06, 5B05. It has high corrosion resistance, fatigue resistance, good plasticity and weldability. They are used to make mailboxes, tubing, etc.
4, forged aluminum alloy, commonly used 6A02, high hardness, with good corrosion resistance. Manufacture of engine parts, joints, etc.
5. Casting aluminum alloy is characterized by high heat resistance, low density and strong corrosion resistance, and is generally used for manufacturing engine casings.

![[Image: aluminum_plate-6-300x206.jpg]](http://www.aluminiumstrip-hm.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/aluminum_plate-6-300x206.jpg)
Among the 1-8 series aluminum sheets, the aluminum sheets used for mold manufacturing mainly include a medium hardness 5/6 series alloy and a relatively hard 2/7 series alloy. The 5 series is an aluminum alloy with magnesium as the main alloying element, also known as magnesium aluminum alloy, and its alloy state mainly includes the O state, HXX and HXXX states. The 6-series aluminum plate is an extruded alloy to which Al-Mg-Si element is added. Currently, more than 70% of the aluminum extrusion processed materials in the world are produced using a 6-series alloy.
The 5083 aluminum plate belongs to the hot rolled aluminum plate series. 5083 aluminum plate has good forming and processing properties, corrosion resistance, weldability and oxidative deep processing performance, and is the best choice for aluminum plate for mold making.
![[Image: aluminum_plate-2-300x225.jpg]](http://www.aluminiumstrip-hm.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/aluminum_plate-2-300x225.jpg)
After the heat treatment pre-stretching process of 6061 aluminum plate, its strength cannot be compared with 2XXX series or 7XXX series, but its magnesium and silicon alloy have many characteristics, and it has good processing performance and excellent welding characteristics. Moreover, it has high electroplating property, corrosion resistance, high toughness, no deformation after processing, compact material without defects, easy polishing, easy filming, and excellent oxidation effect.
The above alloy aluminum plate has medium strength, good corrosion resistance and weldability, and can be widely applied to various industrial abrasive structural parts requiring a certain strength.

Aluminum's density is .0975437 lbs / cubic inch.
1 square foot of 1/4" material is 36 cubic inches
36 x .0975437 = 3.5115732 lbs.
But anyway, there are indeed differences in density among different alloys of aluminum, but in general the differences amount to less than 1/2 of 1% of specific gravity.
The diet is too much to handle because you're making yourself uncomfortable. If you make yourself uncomfortable with dramatic lifestyle changes, you wont stick with it. I think what will work best for you is one or two small changes at a time. That is how a lot of people do it. My mom used to be big as the side of the house and she started with small changes. First she gave up candy bars and after a week or so she gave up cheese burgers then after another week or so she started walking a little bit.... and just gradually keep adding those small changes. Shes fit now.
You can see further details in https://tr.im/o08iq
I think you could benefit a lot with some nutrition or fitness coaching. Most people need that because they want to change and have all the drive to do it and stick with it, but just don't know what to do or how to start.
Small changes make all the difference. I don't know what you do all day but one small change could be to just start taking stairs instead of an elevator... or if you have whole milk with your cearal, switch to skim or 2% just things like that. Or, if you eat breakfast as school, instead of having the biscuits and gravy, have fruit and oatmeal or whatever else is available that's a better choice. Or stop having ketchup with your French fries (its all sugar). It really does work.
I've spent lots of money on diet clinics and stuff that use drugs or put you on a really strict diet and the results never lasted because it was just too dramatic and I went back to the same bad habits. The only things that ever let to lasting resuts was the small changes that I stuck with... like parking far away from buildings and walking through the parking lot rather than parking as close to the door as I could... I've even joined extreme fitness classes like crossifr and never stayed with them because it was just too much all at once.
One thing you can do that you wont really notice is don't eat everything on your plate... leave like 20% of it. At the end of the month, all that food really adds up.

Hello,
Not that they ever left mind you, just that alot of the big manufacturers went w/Carbon composite frames & the masses followed. Anyways, the latest issue of Bicycling Magazine(very good by the way, their "Buyers Guide" issue) has a nice article about how aluminum bikes are making their way back. I don't know how soon before we see alot more of them on the tour, but I've always liked aluminum frames, and wouldn't mind seeing this resurgence. Any thoughts on this? Do you see aluminum bikes coming back in a mjor way, or is it going to be here and there?
Please help.

Hello,
I've been reading the MIMF for about 10 years on and off but this is my first real post (maybe second - I think I had one on the old forum in the late 1990s), so hello everyone. I'm in the early stages of designing an aluminium neck to retrofit to one of my guitars. I've come to wonder about relief: obviously aluminium is a lot stiffer than any wood I might use and I won't have a truss rod, so it's not going to react the same way to string tension. I've done a lot of reading about this sort of neck, and there doesn't seem to be any information on how exactly it will react. I wonder if anyone here has any experience with this sort of thing? I can't work out whether I'm going to want to design the thing with some relief built in , design it dead straight and deal with the relief issue when it comes to fretboard installation time , or if string tension will have some effect and pull a little relief in. Any ideas would be much appreciated.
Please help.
I didn't find the right solution from the internet.
